Job Overview:Â We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)Â to join our growing team. The IBCLC will provide direct lactation care, assess feeding concerns, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to support optimal feeding outcomes for infants and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Education
Conduct comprehensive lactation assessments for newborns, infants, and parents.
Provide hands-on assistance with breastfeeding, pumping, and alternative feeding methods.
Educate and counsel families on latch techniques, positioning, milk supply, weaning, and returning to work.
Support parents with complex feeding concerns (low supply, oversupply, mastitis, etc.).
Collaborate with other healthcare providers and coordinate care
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Maintain detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
Prepare reports for other healthcare professionals and agencies as needed.
Professional Development:
Stay current with overall advancements in the field through ongoing professional development and training.
Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.
Stay current with lactation specific research and best practices through continuing education.
Qualifications:
Current state licensure as a recognized health care professional in good standing
Current IBCLC certification in good standing (CLC, CLS, CLE, CBS acceptable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and age groups.
